On 23 June, Party Secretary Yang Wansheng visited the Dongfang Turbine Co. Ltd. in Sichuan for earthquake condolence. During his visit to the Dongfang Turbine Sub-division in Deyang, President Zhang Zhiying made a briefing to Secretary Yang on the earthquake aftermath at the Dongfang Turbine Co., and their disaster relief work. Secretary Yang on behalf of all CMEC employees extended the deepest condolence to the employees and their relatives of the Dongfang Turbine Co. died in the earthquake and expressed the most profound respect and sincere condolence to the cadres and employees of the Co. tenaciously struggling at the frontline of disaster relief and reconstruction. In view of its urgent needs, CMEC donated 20 sets of notebook computers and 5 sets of slides projectors to the Dongfang Turbine Co.
After the conclusion of the donation ceremony, Secretary Yang immediately went to the Hanwang Dongfang factory to observe the situation of the disaster. The devastating damage in the major earthquake was shocking. On the morning of June 24th, President Stseve of Dongfang Electric Group met with the party Secretary Yang. Both parties expressed their willingness to strengthen cooperation and to develop jointly the international market. Meanwhile, President Xie Biao and Secretary Yang Wansheng sent a letter of condolence to Dongfang Turbine together.
